LIVERPOOL MARATHON ITS MY 2 MARATHON IN 4 WEEKS AM I MAD

This was one of the hardest marathons i have yet but it was a great marathon the people out cheering i havent seen crowds like that since i ran the New York marathon.THOUSANDS of people pounded the streets of Merseyside as the marathon returned to Liverpool after a gap of nearly 20 years.Competitors, made up of regular road runners, charity fundraisers and good sports in fancy dress, set off from Birkenhead Park 50 minute later than scheduled due to safety issues. It is understood a cars were being driven down a road which should have been closed to traffic.Crowds - ten-deep in places - lined the course and cheered on family, friends and colleagues. The runners emerged from the Birkenhead tunnel to the sound of drumming group Batala. The route then took them into south Liverpool and around the scenic Sefton Park. The finishing line was in the shadow of the three graces where crowds clapped and cheered as music from the Beatles was piped into the air.Liverpool hosted an annual marathon, known as the City Marathon, as far back as 1927. It later became the Mersey Marathon but as interest began to diminish it was axed in 1992
